Let's Talk Strobing!

Hiii, it's nearly December which means CHRISTMAS and I'm super excited so I have a post that has nothing to do with Christmas or December at all, woo!

I'm 99.9% sure that you've all heard of the term 'strobing.' To me, it's a kind of light, however, nowadays we live in a world where one word means various things. Like strobing. It's now a make up term. A term that is widely used on a daily basis, apparently for them 'lazy' people. Me, being quite lazy, felt like I had to explore what the world of strobing entailed.

Strobing, in the make up sense, means highlighting the parts of your face you wish to bring out. Which is the opposite to contouring, where you wish to bring things in. We all know contouring takes a lot of skill, you're either blessed with the ability to be able to contour and look like you have amazing cheekbones and a jawline which could cut through wood. But unfortunately, I fall into the second category where I just look like I have a massive brown like running through the middle of my cheek. So when I stumbled upon something which could essentially help me massively, I'd be pretty stupid not to give it a whirl.

For this you basically need the most dewy foundation you can find. I already had this in me little stash, so I'm going to use the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation. I'm actually between two shades so I'm going to mix 010 Porcelain and 100 Ivory. Some tutorials that I watched online, used a creamy moisturiser as well so underneath the foundation, I used the No7 Early Defence Day Cream. This foundation is super dewy anyway but it just adds a little bit extra something to your face. I'm not going to set my foundation, I'm going to go straight in with a highlighter and I'm using the KIKO Milano Beam of Light highlighter in 01. IF you saw my KIKO haul about 4 months ago, it's the one featured there. Anyway, I'm going to take this where I want the light to hit me most,m so the tops of my cheekbones, the place on my forehead above my nose (Not sure what it's called), a little bit down the bride of my nose and a little bit in the middle of my chin as well.

I have a feeling this is going to go really badly. Oh and I'm using my finger to do this, brushes are so last year.

Alright, here we go, the finished piece. I look so weird and uncomfortable, I'm sorry. My eye looked very uncomfortable so I've just stuck a little heart over it. LOL.

Personally, I don't think it has the same effect as contouring but it is a lot quicker so maybe i will use it. If i'm ever feelin lazy (most of the time), I'll just pop a bit on and I'm good to go!

Give it a go and see how you fair with it! Let me know how you get on as well if you do decide to give it a go!

Frizzy Hair

Hiii, today I have a post about how I tame my hair! As I got into my teens, my hair took a turn for the worst and I started getting very frizzy hair. And it's not even the good kind. Some people have frizzy hair and it looks amazing. Does that happen to me? No. No, it doesn't. Frizzy hair on me looks like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. And it's annoying. Over the years I've tried several serums to try and calm it down but there's still frizzyness (is that a word?!) to it BUT I've now found one that works like a charm.

And it is the Creightons Frizz No More Sleek and Shine Miracle Serum. I've tried a lot of different serums and blends but this one is the best one I've come across. You'd think more expensive brands would be better but no, for me, this one is definitely better.

There are two ways of using this, as with many hair serums. You can either use it on damp or dry hair. Personally, it doesn't work as well on damp hair for me. I prefer to use it on dry hair after I've styled it in however way I want. This is when I notice the most difference.

I left my hair frizzy for 2 days so I could apply some serum and show you how well it actually works! The left has no serum and the right has a small amount. Look how good it is!! The difference is amazing! The key with this is getting the right amount, if you use too little, it won't work that well obviously and if you use too much, it can look quite greasy so just be careful. I use about an amount about the size of 5p piece and that works for half of my hair when I split it like in the picture.

(Yes, I have a Christmas top on.)

I'll just type the description on the back of the bottle for you, it pretty much sums it up..(obviously).

"Frizz No More Sleek & Shine Serum reduces frizz to leave the hair silky soft and smooth. With moisturising Meadowfoam and natural Argan Oil, the conditioning formula adds glossy shine. The colour-kind formula is suitable for all hair types."

Meadowfoam is extracted from the plant 'Limnanthes alba' and is actually used in thousands of different products like moisturiser, anti-aging cream and body scrub. For hair products, Meadowfoam oil hydrates and massages the hair whilst making it sleek and shiny. It's also in many shampoos and conditioners where it does the same thing but it also reduces dandruff and dryness.

Argan Oil is a non-greasy oil which is designed to tame frizz and flyaway strands and also, repairing split ends. Argan Oil on it's own can also help hair growth and you can get bottles of Argan Oil from many places like Boots and Superdrug if you want to give that a go.

I can't remember where I got this from but I know you can get it from Poundland so if you're not sure whether to believe me or not, nip to Poundland and grab this for a quid and see for yourself!

Relaxation.

Hiii, this week I thought I'd post about ways which help me relax or de-stress - whatever you want to call it. And maybe these might help you in some way so enjoy!

Scented Candles
I absolutely adore candles and especially in winter, they make my room look so cosy and warm. The scents are incredible as well and it just relaxes me so much. I do have a few favourite candles so I thought I'd share them with you! I haven't listed them all but here's a few!

This one is from Wax Lyrical England and it's in the scent 'Wild Honeysuckle.' I must admit at first, I was a little bit skeptical when I read the scent but as soon as I opened it, the scent just hit me and it was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely one of my favourites!

This one is from ASDA and they do the whole range of the alphabet and they also do an '&' one which I think is a really good idea! This one has a really faint smell of Vanilla, even though it's not the strongest scent, it still smells lovely when it's lit.

I also tend to have a lot of loose little candles so I put them all in a plant pot and I just keep it on my window sill in my room and every now and then I'll just take some out, light them and refill. Rather than getting big candles, I'll just get a load of little ones.

Listening to music
At home, I always seem to be listening to music. I'll just put it on whilst I'm working or just lounging around, I'll just stick my headphones in for hours and listen to music.  At the moment, I'll listen to the charts that are on Spotify and I'm also obsessed with the albums Made in the AM (One Direction), Sounds Good Feels Good (5SOS), Delirium (Ellie Goulding) and The Balcony (Catfish and the Bottlemen). I think music just blocks everything out and it can really help you relax.

Reading
I was never a big fan of reading but I think as soon as you start looking for books yourself and you actually find one you like, it's so relaxing. Again, like music, it just blocks everything out for a while.

Taking my make up off
I find it so satisfying. I love taking my make up off, granted, at like 11 o clock at night when I'm taking it off, not my favourite thing to do. However when I'm in the shower or just sitting around at home, I love taking my make up off. And then putting on moisturiser and face masks (another thing that relaxes me), I just feel so much better!

BATHS
I do love a bath. I just fill it up to the top, full of hot water, put some music on, maybe light some candles and just lie there for a while.

I haven't said this for a while but if you have a spare 30 seconds, feel free to head over to Twitter/Instagram/Bloglovin' and follow me if you don't already! I'd appreciate it a lot!

Hacks Tested

Hiii, today I have a 'hacks' post for you! Basically, during my large amount of free time, I like to sift through YouTube, BlogLovin' and Instagram to find quick, easy, cheaper ways of doing things that I find useful! There are a lot that I've come across over the past couple of months but I've just picked out 4, for now, and I'll do various posts about the rest that I found in future posts!

The first one I found which I think is extremely useful is all to do with clips. I don't know if you can call this a hack, as such, but it is very useful so why not throw it in!

I've obviously tried this, otherwise what's the point of this post, and it does work. Usually my clips are falling out left right and centre and I have to re-do my hair again and again. However if you put clips this way up, it stays in your hair a lot longer and it holds a better grip on your hair.

The next one, is very useful as well. I tried this for 5 days during a school week and it works like a charm. If you use moisturiser or a primer in the morning, set it with a loose powder.

I use this one from No7 and I put it on straight after moisturiser and then carry on with the rest of my make up. This helps my make up last so much longer, especially because I use a matte foundation so it sets a nice base.

This is one that I was really disappointed with. I had really high hopes for this and it let me down. I read that if you put your fingers in cold water after painting them, then they dry in an instant. After 5 minutes in cold water, all I got was smudgey nails and freezing cold hands. I thought maybe I wasn't doing it right but it's just sticking your hand in cold water so where could I have gone wrong?

If you've done this and it worked, let me know where I'm going wrong please!!

The last one I was super impressed with. If you get some selotape (get most of the sticky off first) and line it up with your bottom lash line, it makes it a 100 times easier to do eyeliner. (I know the wing is huge, I just wanted to show it properly.)

Also, it works really well with getting a nice, clean finish for your eyeshadow.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with how they all turned out, except the nail varnish one but we'll forget about that). I hope you find these useful because I do, it's always useful to have an easy, cheat way of doing something!

Oooh, remember to follow me on BlogLovin, Twitter and/or Instagram if you have a sec!

5 Seconds Of Summer's 'Sounds Good Feels Good' Album

Hiii, I'm currently listening to Sounds Good Feels Good which is the new album from 5 Seconds Of Summer and I thought 'Why not do a thoughts/review/opinions type post on this album?' So that's what I'm going to do. ENJOY!

Their self-titled debut album was released June last year and it was such a success! I discovered 5sos before they became this massive band and it's such an amazing thing to see a band grow so much and become who they are today. After the success of the last album, it was evident a second studio album had to happen. And so Sounds Good Feels Good was released on 23rd October 2015.

I have to say, I am a massive fan of this album. It's incredibly different from their first studio album which I think is a good thing because what's the point of having two identical albums? It's hard to pick one song and say it's my favourite on the album, however I do have a few favourites

Permanent Vacation
It's an upbeat, feel good (get it?), dance song and it's one of them songs that you'd belt out when you've got the CD on in the car or in the shower. The lyrics are so catchy and it's so hard not to sings along to the chorus. I went to see 5sos in June and they sung this and it was amazing, you can't help but have a good dance and a bit of a laugh with this song!

Catch Fire
Again, this is such a catchy song and it's so hard not to sing your heart out to! It just makes you want to get up and dance, and I imagine it will be amazing live!

Vapor
This song's all about someone who you get addicted to for different reasons and I think the majority of people can relate to this at some point in their lives. I really like this because they just sound so mature as a band and I think the lyrics are incredible and if it was my song, I'd be so proud of it.

San Francisco
I love this song so much, it's just a really cute song. You can really hear how much they've changed in the last year and you can hear how much stronger their voices have gotten and it's just a really amazing song.

Outer Space/Carry On
I really like the idea of putting these two songs together, they're just completely different and it just works so well. I think in this combination, you can really hear their musical influences. I can their influences but it has their twist own twist on it and it just really works.

Overall, I honestly love this album so much! I'm probably a little biased because they are one of my favourite bands but oh well... It's still an amazing album!

My Favourite....

Hiii, as it's Autumn, or nearly Autumn...(I'm not quite sure), I thought I'd share my favourite Autumn lipstick with you!

This is the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade 'Starry-Eyed' which you can get from Boots for £4.99.

I absolutely love this colour! It's a dark plummy colour which is perfect for Autumn! There isn't a red tint to this which I think is a good thing because this makes it such a strong colour! I love wearing this with gold eye shadow in Autumn, it's just really suitable for the kind of colours and tones you see this time of year!

The lipstick is super long lasting which is quite a few hours for me personally. I wore this for quite a long time at one point and even though the lipstick hadn't remained as strong, it looked like a tint and it still looked really nice!

There are so many high end lipsticks you can swap this for but for those of you who aren't quite as confident, like me, at wearing such a bold lip, this is perfect! It's a lot cheaper therefore if you find it's not for you, it's only £5 rather than £20 and above. I think it's good to try something like this out first because it allows you to play around with it a bit more and if you do get more confident with the idea of a bold lip then you can always go for the higher end.

Let's Have A Chat.

Hiii, hope you're all well. I have to apologise for not posting for like a year but a lot's been happening so I thought we'd have a chat so I can inform you about my lack of updates!

First thing, I'm sat eating a tub of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream whilst reminiscing over the fact that this time last week I was on a bus on my way to see One Direction. And it was INCREDIBLE!!!
Before I went, it hadn't sunk in that Zayn wasn't going to be there and it was so weird seeing only 4 entrances for them to come out. It was so strange and it was weird not seeing him there but nevertheless, the boys put on a fantastic show. As much as I hate to admit it, they did fine without Zayn which I'm glad about because it doesn't look as if Zayn's coming back does it? :(
The staging was amazing as always! If you haven't been able to make it to this tour, look on Twitter for a picture of the stage for Stockholm Syndrome. It was incredible and it just fit in with the song so well! Definitely go and check it out!

I managed to get Ellie Goulding tickets!!! I've wanted to see her live for years and now I get to! That concert's on the 19th April in Manchester so if you're going too, I might see you there!

Oooh, I've just remembered I'm going to see Chris Ramsey in 9 days! He's a comedian for those of you who don't know him and he's doing a gig in a uni near me so I get to see him! I actually saw him this time last year and it was so good! He was so so funny and he did a meet and greet after so I got to meet him as well!

I GOT A JOB WOOOO! I now work in a hotel as a waitress because Alys (mi amigo) works there so she kindly got me a job. It's very very tough but the people are nice so I shall plod on!

I'm now settled into my driving lessons as well! I had my 5th today and I love it so far! I'd recommend anyone to start driving, it's wicked! I'm hoping to pass my test by May, I'm not sure if it's achievable but I can hope!

I think this is the last thing I have to tell you...anyway I've applied for Lou Teasdale's Beauty School Dropout course! For those of you who don't know who Lou is, she's an incredible make up artist and hair stylist, and she's teaming up with Nicola Schuller, another amazing artist and they're putting on a 5 day beauty course in London for 10 lucky people! I'm super excited to find out whether I've been accepted or not, we shall see!

I think that's it...if I think of something I shall add it in! Sorry that I haven't posted, I've been very busy with school, driving and work but when I sort it all out I shall be back to updating regularly and hopefully they will have better quality!

Thanks for reading!

Make Up Hack

Hiii, me again! I quite like discovering little hacks and tips for make up so I've got one for you today! I find this one really useful hopefully you will too!

If you're like me and early mornings aren't your cup of tea, you're probably not one to go to town on your make up, especially not doing your eyebrows which takes a lot of time and precision, something I don't have a lot of in the morning.

If you want natural looking brows but with a bit more fullness, then I would try this. It works so well for me and literally takes me about 2 minutes to do!

All you need is a spooly and your chosen brow powder.

Firstly, just brush through your brows with the spooly so all of the hairs are going the same way and are how you like them.

Then, take the spooly and dab it into the powder to get a little bit of the product onto it.

All you need to do is brush your eyebrow hairs with the product and repeat until you have an amount on there that you 're satisfied with! I usually use repeat once and that's fine for me, there's a fair bit of product on there but nothing too heavy and bold.

Sometimes, if the front of my eyebrows are a bit sparse, I'll use this method but then quickly just take an angled brush and swipe some of the product across to help fill them in a bit at the front.

You can look at this as a substitute for tinted brow gels I guess. There's nothing wrong with a little DIY or hack is there?! This takes no time at all and saves a lot of time in the morning!

I hope this helps!

Blogging Planner / Schedule

Hiii, today I thought I'd share with you I how I keep up to date with blog posts and certain things I need to do which are related to blogging. This isn't going to interest everyone but it's really helpful if you are a blogger!

About 2 months ago I was ready to do a post which I later realised I had already done. I then discovered I am absolutely terrible at keeping organised. So I thought I needed a way of keeping up to date with posts and making sure I don't get to the point of nearly doing the same post twice. Again.

So I logged on to Microsoft PowerPoint and I put a table on there and created a calendar.

(Let's not talk about how little I did in August.)

I did one of these for each month since July and I've now gone as far as November and I have all of these posts planned which helps me prepare for them throughout the week and I don't have to rush on the weekend.

With this, I know when to take pictures for upcoming posts and I feel a lot more organised and relaxed knowing I have posts planned for 2 more months. Obviously, they might change due to certain things but the main idea is there and you can work around it.

I find it easier to work on a computer to do this because I'm useless with sheets, I would never find them. And it's easier to change posts around and edit things, and have a little play around with when posts are going to be going up.

There are tons of websites that sell an actual planner suitable for bloggers but if you don't fancy spending money on them and you prefer something on the computer because it's easier, then I'd definitely try this way. It's so so much easier!

Give it a go and let me know how you get on!

Also, follow me on Bloglovin', Twitter, IG, if you haven't already!

GRWM: Wedding Party Edition

Hiii, as promised I have the 'Get Ready With Me' from last week! I went to a wedding party and I actually really liked the make up, it was completely different from anything I've ever done so I thought I'd share it with you!

I've come to the conclusion this week that I'm not quite ready to post selfies on here. I'm not sure why but it's something that scares me quite a lot so I've re-created this look in a way that I'm most comfortable with. By drawing. I've always found myself drawing in different situations and I find it de-stressing...(Is that a word?). Some of you may find this a bit of an odd way of doing this but this is something I do regularly when finding new make up looks and I thought it would be good to share it this way with you!

ENJOY!

Let's  get started!

Firstly, I used the No7 Stay Perfect Shine Free Primer. This is by far my favourite primer because it gives such a smooth base for my foundation. It lasts all day and doesn't let my make up slip around during the day.

Like always, I then used the No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation. It goes on so well on top of the primer and it has the best coverage of foundations I've ever used.

Moving onto concealer, I used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This is by far one of the best concealers I've owned. It works so well for covering spots and even acne scars. It lasts so long and I don't have to worry about it creasing.

For under eye concealer, I used No7's Matchmade Concealer in Caliclo which is one shade lighter than my skin. I just use this to brighten my under eye area and to cover dark circles which this concealer is very good for!

For brows, I picked the trustworthy Collection Work The Colour Nude Eye Palette and I used the top right brown for this. It's super easy to use and it's not too heavy and bold.

Firstly for the eyes I used an eye primer from Avon and set it with 'Foxy' from the Naked 2 Palette.

I then packed on the colour 'Half Baked' from the Naked 2 Palette and added a bit of definition in the crease using the colour 'Busted' again, from this palette. I also took Busted into a V in the outer corners and created a smokey eye. I made sure to blend both colours, especially Busted, upwards because if I did it downwards, it would make my eyes look dull and that's not a look I want to go for!

I also took 'Blackout' on a small angled brush and pushed it into my top and bottom lashes and blended lightly to intensify the lash line. Basically using eyeshadow as an eyeliner. I'm not much of an eyeliner person (mainly because I can't do it) but eyeshadow is so much easier to do and personally, I think it completes any eye look.

Where I applied Half Baked, I went over and added the Barry M Dazzle Eye Shadow in Gold. I loved using this because it stood out but it wasn't bold and in your face so it made it a lot easier to wear.

To finish the eyes, I used the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara. I absolutely love this, it's so easy to apply and creates a false lash effect.

For bronzer I dug out my old favourite and used the Bourjois Délice de Poudre Gold Bronzing Powder just to add a little definition and to add a bit of colour to my face.

Moving onto lips, I started by using a small angled brush to apply my lipstick to outline my lips slightly to make it slightly easier for me to apply the lipstick. The lipstick I used was the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in 64 Fuschia Danger. This is by far my favourite part of the look, I absolutely adore this lipstick!

Feel free to re-create this and let me see! Tag me on Instagram, Twitter or email me, I'd be happy to see them!

Thanks for reading!

No7 Skin Care

Hiii, a couple of months ago, I picked up some No7 skin care products that I absolutely love! There was a lovely woman in Boots who give me the best products that would suit my skin so I'd definitely recommend asking someone who works at the No7 counter for help!

I'm actually quite gutted today, I had a 'Get ready with me' planned which I was going to prepare yesterday but I woke up ill and still today, my eyes are quite red and unattractive at the moment! I was so looking forward to doing it but fingers crossed for next week!

Total Renewal Micro-dermabrasion Exfoliator, £11.50
OH. MY. GOD. This has literally transformed my skin. An exfoliator works by using micro-crystals which blend away and bad cells and dirt which has been clogging up pores and not leaving your face clean. It doesn't work straight away, nothing does, but within a few times of trying it, your skin is completely different. Even though, I use it twice a week, my skin is soft and clean throughout. I don't feel as if there's as many uneven parts and my skin just looks fresher. If you know me, you'll know I haven't got the best skin and I'm not that comfortable with it. I don't think I ever will be fully content with it, but I am so much more happier with it now.

Makeup Brush Cleaner, £8.00
Not necessarily a skin care product but you need something in order to keep dirt off your brushes as well. I normally use a face wash to clean my brushes but it does take a while so if I'm in need of a quick clean, I will definitely turn to this. I'll just point out, it's not as thorough as a proper cleanse but it does work so so well!

Early Defence Day Cream, £19.50
I know some of you are going to say 'OMG, that's so expensive!' I know, I thought the exact same thing! However, it's so worth it. I have another moisturiser for night, this is just a morning one. It's so useful, it gives your face a natural glow and it makes it look so much fresher. Especially during the early mornings, it gives you the 'awake' look you need. The tub is quite a generous size and you only have to use a small amount of it. I've had it for about 2 months and it doesn't look like I've used it yet.

Beautiful Skin Rapid Spot Rescue, £9.95
I go through stages of liking this and not. Sometimes when I use it, I'm so impressed and the spot goes down within hours but othertimes, I'm like 'Hmm, I'm not sure.' It does work but just not all that well sometimes. But when it does, it's absolutely brilliant.

I know these products are quite expensive but Boots usually hand out vouchers where you have £5 off skincare so it does work out a bit cheaper when you have them vouchers!

This post wasn't sponsored and is 100% my own opinions.

What I Had For My 17th Birthday!

Hiii, as some of you may know it was my birthday on Thursday so I thought I'd share what I had with you! I've had so much nice stuff this year and I would be here a while if I listed everything so I've narrowed it down a bit so I'm really sorry if you got me something and it's not here!

From Alys, I got this gorgeous charm from Warren James for my Pandora! Including this one I've only got 3 charm on my Pandora so it looks so nice because it's not overcrowded and it just looks so nice!

She also got me this personalised Cadbury's chocolate bar which says 'Happy Birthday' on the front and 'Lozza, have a wonderful day!' on the back with a little picture of us from Prom last year. I absolutely love it, it's so cute!

And I also had some shower gel and body lotion from The Body Shop and a cute little rose bath bomb which smells amazing!

I had some bath caviar which is like little bath salts and this cute little key ring from Amber! I do love a bath so I'm excited to try the caviar! And the key ring is absolutely adorable! I also had 2 pens and some Thornton's chocolates!

From Sam, I had this beautiful necklace with an 'L' on and a little plaque that says 'Dream until your dreams come true.' I love little plaques like this so thank you! I'm also obsessed with London so she got me a box which is decorated with Big Ben and Union Jacks. Also, she got me London notebook, again decorated with London inspired things!

Kendal got me this candle from Wax Lyrical which is in Wild Honeysuckle and it smells absolutely amazing! You don't even have to light it and the smell is so strong. Kendal also got me a notebook which is going to be so useful, obviously for school next week.

Rhiannon got me the cutest little bag from Newlook! It's such a gorgeous colour and it's a really nice size, I love it!

My little cousin made me this key ring with One Direction on and when she gave it to me she said 'Sorry, I didn't know whether to leave Zayn out or not.' She's so cute, bless her! She also got me this set of earrings which I love and 3 rings which I love also! El also got me a Juicy Couture gift set which includes a make up or wash bag, nail sheets, body lotion, perfume and shower gel I think! I absolutely love it, they all smell amazing!

Lastly, these are from my parents! A few months ago, they gave me a camera (It was the Nikon L330!) which was for my birthday but I had a few things coming up which they thought I might as well use my camera for so they gave it me early!

I've been going on and on and on about getting a nice watch but all of the ones I've seen there's always been something putting me off so they decided to chance it and get me one for my birthday! And honestly, it's the nicest one I've seen and I love it so much! I've got a bit of an obsession with rose gold so obviously the watch is in rose gold!

This is the new One Direction perfume called 'Between Us.' Personally, it's my favourite of them all, it smells absolutely incredible and the bottle and the packaging are so pretty as well!

I picked this out myself from H.Samuels a few weeks ago! And again, of course, it's in rose gold.

Lastly, this is by far my favourite present I think I've ever had. EVER. It's a signed Leigh Halfpenny photo which says: 'To Lauren Beaumont, Happy Birthday, I hope you have a great day' with his signature underneath. I think this is absolutely incredible! WOW. PS it's going in a frame.

I also had quite a lot of money this year which I wasn't expecting at all and I had also had a bunch of flowers actually from my Nana which are so lovely!
