The Brits 2015: Perrie Edwards

Hiii, as the majority of you will know, the Brits were held on Wednesday night and obviously there was endless posts of everyone's make up and clothes. One that really stuck out for me was Little Mix's Perrie Edwards. I thought she looked so stunning and her make up was so simple and easy to recreate. So I've got a load of products that I'd use if I was to recreate her look.

First I'd start off by using the Rimmel London 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation. If you've seen Perrie at the Brits, you'll see that it is a smooth base and this will give you that along with good coverage.

Then, I would use the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer under my eyes or on spot/redness just to get extra coverage.

Next I would use the Kelly Brook Bronzer from New Look in the shade Glow. This is a really nice bronzer because it's got a bit of a shimmer to it will look especially good with this look.

To set the foundation and the bronzer, I would use the Rimmel London Clear Complexion Powder in Translucent. I use this everyday because it is so light and you can hardly tell you're wearing any powder.

The main feature in this look is the eyes, so for them I would use the colour Chopper from the Naked 2 palette. Again, she's kept the make up really simple so I would use this all over the lid.

Under the eyes, she has used a similar colour so I would use the colour Trick from the Naked 3 palette. I think the eyeshadow under the lower lash line brings the whole look together, however it would look good without it as well.

Personally, I'm not a fan of false lashes so I would use the Rimmel London Volume Lash Scandal Eyes Mascara. This is the best mascara that I've ever used to give you full, bold lashes.

Looking at her eyebrows, I don't think she's paid too much attention to these, again not wanting to detract from the eyes so I would use the Collection Work The Colour Nude Eye Palette. It is a smokey eye palette but the colours are so nice for natural looking eyesbrows, so I definitely recommend this.

To finish off the look, again keeping it simple, I would use the No7 High Shine Lipgloss in the colour Glaze. It is a light brown gloss with a shimmer so it ties all of the look together. I have used this for so long and it works so well with everyday looks as well.

I really liked finding the right make up to create this look because I think she looked stunning so I really hoped you enjoyed this!

Haul

Hiii, today I have another haul for you. I bought some really nice things the other day so I thought I'd share them with you!

The first thing I wanted to show you is these jeans. They are from Next and you can get them for £28.  I saw these as soon as I went in and I immediately fell in love with them! The thing that drew me to them was the zips, they just look so cool!

Next, is this jumper from New Look for £14.99. It says 'Nothing To Wear' and it comes in white and grey I think, but you can also get t-shirts and vest tops. I think it can actually go with anything, it's so easy to wear, I love it!

One of my favourite things that I bought was this book by Tanya Burr which you can get for £7 from ASDA. I have to admit that I haven't actually read all of this yet but what I have read of it is amazing!! It goes through things that girls will need to know about make-up, hair, love and lots more things. I think it's a really good book to ave, especially as a teenager.

I've done a separate post about this so I'm not going to go into too much detail so go and check that out if you like! But this is the Simple Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel which you can get for about £3 from Boots, Superdrug, etc.

Next I have Kodaline's new album 'Coming Up For Air.' Personally I think it is completely different from the last album, 'In A Perfect World' which I absolutely loved but who wants two albums that are the same? I definitely recommend giving this a listen!

This is the Pantene Extra Strong Hold Hairspray. I have been out of hairspray for about 3 months, every time I went out I completely forgot about buying new hairspray so thank God I remembered this time. Plus, it works like a dream. It's one of the best hairsprays ever.
This is a bit off topic but this hairspray spells like something but I don't know what so if you have this and you recognise the smell, let me know. Cheers :)

This has to be my favourite thing I bought! It is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and you can buy this from Debenhams for £38. I cannot tell you how long I have wanted this but now I've got it so it's all good! When I've tried it properly I will definitely do a whole post on it like I did with the other one so keep an eye out for that!

I hope you enjoyed this! Let me know if you want things like this again and remember to follow and tell your friends! (You don't have to but it would be nice).

My Favourite...

Hiii, today I have another favourite for you. This time it's foundation which is the Beautifully Matte Foundation from No7. You can get this from Boots for £13.50.

I absolutely love this foundation. I have tried so many but this one has given me the best results every time I've used it.

I think it's a high coverage foundation which is obviously very useful. I love using it because it covers spots, redness, dark circles, anything and I won't have to worry about them becoming too visible throughout the day so I just think it's a really useful foundation.

The only negative thing about this make up is that it's a bit thick. However that doesn't bother me too much but I know a lot of people don't like thick layers of foundation so I suggest adding some moisturiser to it and it will work exactly the same.

It works really well with the Match Made Concealer, also from No7 which you can get for £7.50 from Boots.

The good thing is with No7 is if you go into a Boots store, they will give you a free No7 match. All they do is match your skin tone to their nearest foundation, which is definitely worth a try.

I know it's really difficult to find the right foundation for your skin so I hope if you do suffer with acne/redness etc then you found this useful!

First Impressions

Hiii, today I have a first impressions post for you on the Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel. I've only tried it once, obviously, but I love it so much already so I thought I'd share it with you!

Before I start, I should probably mention that you can get this from many high street stores like Boots, Superdrug, etc and it's about £3, depending where you get it from.

Like I said, I bought this yesterday and I love it for 2 reasons. The first being it is light. Usually, I can feel the products on my skin afterwards but with this, you can't. I have tried many products like this that have been thick and you know it's on your skin. I find it really refreshing and it's really easy and simple to use.

The second reason is that it makes my skin feel clean. If you suffer with acne, you know that it's difficult to make your face feel and look clean. But this does both of those things. My face hasn't felt properly clean in about 2 months and as soon as I used this, it was the cleanest it's felt and looked in a long time.

I would honestly recommend this to anyone, especially to someone with spots/acne. You use a little bit at a time and for £3, you can't go wrong. It's definitely worth a try!

Your Own Personal Space

Hiii, today I have quite a weird post for you. At home, my room is my own little space where it can reflect me in whatever way I want. I have decorated my room so much over the last few years and even though I liked it, it was never 100% me. So over the last year or so I have tried to make this happen as much as possible. I've spent so much time trying to perfect it and get it so it's my own personal room, and I think I've finally done it so I thought it would be nice to show you and give you ideas on how you can make your room personal to you.

I have a lot of brushes and moisturizers so I just used old boxes and stored them in there. When I was little I always loved making my own boxes out of toilet roll holders (if you haven't done this, you haven't lived) but obviously I would look a bit weird using one now so I think an old box is similar to that and just reminds me of being a child, I guess.
Some of you might know this, you might not but my favourite band is One Direction so the 'Little Things' box just had to happen.

(I got these boxes from B&Q, btw)

I don't know why but I absolutely love shelves, I don't know why but I do. So when I saw these cute little shelves, couldn't really turn them down, could I? I just think they're a great way of holding stuff without using drawers all of the time, I find it really simple.

(You can find these in B&M)

Obviously I love fashion, otherwise I wouldn't be doing this blog so my Nan got me a mannequin for Christmas and I absolutely love it. It's such a personal object and to be given it by someone else makes you think that they've gone out and saw this and thought of you so it just really reflects you.
I also love nail varnishes and perfumes and I love the boxes that perfumes come in so I'll just put the boxes on my shelf because I think they look nice.

I got this for Christmas this year and I was honestly so happy with it. I love playing board games and card games and to receive this for Christmas was just amazing, I love it. I think every needs little ornaments like this that remind you of things because they're so personal. Candles. Ornaments are like candles. Everyone just has to have one.

This is what I think reflects me the most in my room. I am a very big fan of many bands/singers/comedians so naturally, I had to have posters and pictures. So I have one wall dedicated to posters and pictures. I love it because the pictures on there make it like a memory wall. I have so many pictures on there from my first One Direction concert, friends, family, holidays and I love looking at it, it reminds me of so many good memories so it's my favourite thing in my room.
I also have a lot of framed pictures because I like them too much to go on the wall so I keep them on my bedside table.

This might not be very useful to you but I hope it gives you some inspiration if you're redecorating or moving house, I don't know but I hope you enjoyed it!
P.S I'm sorry it's a bit lengthy.

Make Up Tip

Hiii, today I have a make up tip that I found a few years ago and I thought it would be useful to share it with you.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone because that's not my intention but personally, I am not a fan of clumpy/spider leg lashes. So if you're like me then hopefully, you will like this tip and you will find it useful.

All you need to do is keep an old bottle of mascara that has ran out. Straight after you've put your mascara on, use the brush from the empty bottle and use it as though you were applying mascara. The old brush acts as a blotter. If you apply more than one layer of mascara, obviously do this every time you add a layer.  I can guarantee that you will get clump-free lashes every time.

I hope this works for everyone because I find it so useful and it's so easy!

My Favourite...

Hiii, I thought that I would do a new section where I will show you my favourite of something, like a book or t-shirt. So, today I have my favourite day lipstick for you!

It was so easy to pick this one. Without a doubt, it has to be the Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick Shimmering Shades in the colour Chic which is £7.50. I absolutely love this colour! It looks a darkish brown but when it's on, it's a dark peach/light brown.

It is so easy to wear and it doesn't stand out too much which is good for when you want to wear a lipstick but you don't want anything too much.

The lipstick itself is amazing. It's difficult to find a lipstick that will stay on for quite a while but this one does. You can drink, eat, whatever and it will still be near enough like you've just put it on.

There is a lot of different types like Matte and Satin and they have so many different colours so I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Make your own Ripped Jeans!

Hiii, today I have a step-by-step guide on how to rip your jeans. I thought it would be a good thing to do because ripped jeans are so in at the moment and they're easy to make so I hope you enjoy!

First thing you need to do is mark where you want the rip to be. Mark roughly how long you want the rip to be so you don't go over the top when you're cutting. You can do it freestyle but I prefer doing it like this as it gives you an outline of where you need to cut.

Next, grab a pair of scissors, open them out and put one end at the edge of the line. Apply a bit of pressure and drag the end across the line. It might take a few tries but eventually, you will see a rip appearing.

When you have a big enough rip, really gently pull both sides of the hole apart. this will loosen up some of the threads and give it a really good look.
If you want a hole rather than a rip, add a bit more force when pulling the sides.

This is an optional step but you can use a small bit of sandpaper on the edges of the rip to give a really good frayed effect.

Then add as many as you like!

I hope you found this useful and easy to do! Let me know in the comments if you need help with anything and I'll get back to you!

Sixth Form

Hiii, I know year 11’s are choosing what to do after high school so I thought I would post this, hopefully explaining a bit more about sixth form to help with your decision! I haven’t wrote this to say you should do this or that but I know a lot of people find it hard to choose what to do so hopefully this clears up anything about sixth form!

Personally, I think sixth form is a great way to transition from high school to higher education. If you’re a shy person, I think it’s especially helpful because it’s a good platform to work from. At high school it’s very teacher based, whereas college or university will be completely different. Sixth form is a half way mark between the both because it’s very independent but the teachers are there whenever you need them so you’re not completely on your own.

Everyone will handle sixth form differently but one piece of advice you will all need is to pick the subjects you like, not the ones you got the best grades in. Obviously you’ve got to be good at the subject but if you take it because you got an A in GCSE, you will not enjoy it at all. The work you get will feel like a chore and that’s definitely not the right way to go about it. You have to have a good interest in it.

The option is open to pick either 3 or 4 subjects. I picked 4 in September (History, Welsh, French and Maths) but ended up dropping one after Christmas because I was finding it difficult to get everything done in time. However, I picked subjects that required quite a lot of time outside of school so this isn’t going to be the case for everyone. Now I’m doing 3, I find that I can spend a lot more time doing the homework in school and can have a free night at home. If you pick 4, the option is always there to drop a subject.

On a positive note...you have a lot more freedom than high school. The teachers treat you like adults and you have more of a say in most things. I’m quite lucky because I have small classes so I have really good relationship with people in my class and also the teachers. There are a lot of people who come from different schools so you will meet so many new people, mostly ones that you never thought you’d be friends with before.

Going to sixth form is something you have to really think about. It’s not an easy option and you shouldn’t do it because you don’t know what else you can do. Although you get good qualifications out of it, look at all of your other options before jumping into anything, and that’s the same for whatever higher education you choose. With any higher education, you have to be prepared to put the work in, otherwise it won’t work!!

I honestly enjoy sixth form but it’s not for everyone. When I was choosing what to do, I spoke to my parents and we set out all of my options and decided sixth form was the best route for me. I think it really helps if you sit down with someone and do a pros and cons list and it should make everything easier.

If you have any questions about subjects, sixth form or anything, leave them in the comments!
